One morning, Josie, a photographer, discovered Lucian, a large orange cat, in a dire state on the roadside at 7 am. Strangely, he appeared to be anticipating her arrival as she approached from the wooded area. Without prior consideration, she immediately dubbed him Lucian Lionheart and took him under her care.
Despite the fact that most people would have driven past him, she made the decision to halt. To her amazement, she successfully caught him after trailing him to a small crevice and brought him back to her house. This was truly a remarkable feat!
Lucian, the cat, didn’t look his best despite being healthy. He seemed to have gone through a lot as he was skinny and scruffy. It was only after they removed all the knots and tangles from his fur that his true condition became apparent.
Lucian appeared to have bloody, crusty, and nearly closed eyes, which made it seem like he had no eyes at all. He had patches of fur missing and matted masses hanging from his body. Despite his poor health, he was a friendly and affectionate cat. Josie took him in and cleaned him up, and he responded with loud purring and hunger. She immediately fell in love with him and brought him to an animal rescue, where they discovered that he required extensive treatment, tests, and infusions. Though he had to stay with the rescuers, Josie was determined to give him a warm home filled with love, good food, and a soft bed to rest on for the rest of his life.
Lucian’s Road to Recovery Wasn’t Smooth Lucian was in bad shape when he was discharged from the vet, with his matted fur having been shaved off. Despite running a constant fever and being anemic, Lucian remained strong and continued to eat and drink well, giving hope that he would recover. Unfortunately, his condition took a turn for the worse, and Lucian’s life was in danger. Doctors discovered a large mass that could have been cancerous, and they suggested putting him down. However, Josie wanted to give Lucian a chance to live out his remaining days surrounded by love and care. “I just want this poor creature to have a chance at life, even if it’s just a year or two, or for the rest of his life. He deserves to be pampered and loved, with a full belly and a soft bed after everything he’s been through,” she said.
Lucian’s Happy Ending When Lucian finally returned home, Josie was overjoyed to see her darling cat. He looked like a sweet little angel with his soft, fluffy fur and adorable face. Josie could not resist cuddling him as she had been eagerly waiting for this moment. Over time, his hair grew back, making him even more beautiful than before. Josie knew that Lucian was truly meant to be her feline companion and felt grateful for this fairy tale ending.
According to the vets, he’s approximately eight years old and Josie is convinced that he’s part Maine Coon. She describes him as the most adorable and affectionate little creature one could ask for.
The feline found his permanent abode amidst the vastness of the German Palatinate Forest and quickly became an integral member of the household. Josie expressed her amazement at how the cat she discovered in the woods had transformed into the beloved pet they now call family.
Presently, he is a stunning cat model, and it’s hard to believe the hardships he faced before.
